We get a lot of questions about when we’ll organize an Expedition to a specific destination, so here you’ll easily find all Covid-19 travel updates for every destination we offer. We know that traveling during these times is challenging, but we’ve adapted, researched and prepared to explore those destinations that continue to open up to visitors.
Uganda is open to tourist with a negative PCR <72h. Join our Expedition this November!
South Sudan is open to tourist with a negative PCR <72h. Join our Expedition this November!

DR Congo is open and you just need a negative PCR test <72h. Expect an Expedition soon!
Socotra is open to tourists with a negative PCR <72h and antigen test on arrival. Expect an Expedition soon!
Mauritania is open and you just need a negative PCR test <72h. Expect an Expedition soon!
Sudan is open to tourists with a negative PCR <72h. Join our Expedition there this January!
Saudi is now open to vaccinated travelers. Join our Saudi Expeditions this January, when the weather will be ideal to explore!
Iraq is open for vaccinated tourists or tourists with a negative PCR <72h. We ran an Expedition there earlier this year and you can expect another in 2022!
Iran remains closed to tourism. As soon as it opens, we’ll be there!
Kazakhstan remains closed to tourism. As soon as it opens, we’ll be there!
Russia remains closed for most nationalities. As soon as it opens, expect a few Expeditions all over it!
As soon as Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan open up, we’ll run a 5-Stans Expedition!
We’re planning a trip across Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Nagorno Karabaj (on top of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan), but we need the region to fully open up again first.
Libya is open, but we’re waiting for more stable conditions to be able to organize a week-long Expedition there.
Turkmenistan is still closed for tourism. As soon as it opens, we’ll be there!
Eritrea is still closed for tourism. As soon as it opens, we’ll be there!
Algeria remains closed to tourism. As soon as it opens, we’ll be there!
North Korea remains closed to tourism. As soon as it opens, we’ll be there!
PNG remains closed to tourism. As soon as it opens, we’ll be there!
Ukraine is open to vaccinated travellers. We had a memorable time this June!
Somalia is open for travellers with a negative PCR <72h. We visited this April and had a blast! Stay tuned to another Expedition in 2022!
All Expeditions to Afghanistan are currently suspended due to the current security situation.
For your peace of mind, here’s how we prepare our Expeditions for Covid:
- We require all travelers & guides to be tested before arrival.
- Most of our Expeditioners are frequent travelers that are fully vaccinated.
- We only offer private transports on our Expeditions.
- We support you with all the information you require pre, during and post tour.
- We’ve never had a client test positive on an Expedition, but we have quarantine protocols ready. Ask us for more info!
