This summer, embark on an adventure to explore the wonders of Western Mongolia with the best travel family.
On this Expedition, we will attend the Altai Eagle Festival in Mongolia and visit the Altai Mountains, along with the unique national parks surrounding the region. The Altai Eagle Festival is an event you cannot miss. Each day will bring new experiences with nomadic families, famous for their Eagle Hunters, wild horses, and breathtaking landscapes. With a carefully planned itinerary, this expedition promises an unforgettable journey for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path adventure filled with cultural immersion and awe-inspiring natural wonders!

itinerary
- Welcome to Mongolia! The Expedition begins on September 20th as we take an early flight from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, to Olgii, located in the stunning western region. It is recommended to arrive in Ulaanbaatar on September 19th to be well-rested for the next days ahead. Upon arrival, we will drive to Tolbo where you can enjoy traditional eagle hunting festival. Enjoy the opening ceremony, traditional parade, folk concert and preparation for the competition.
- Overnigh: Tourist camp by the Tolbo Lake
Day 2: Altai Eagle Festival.
- On the second day of the festival, you can enjoy more traditional horse games and awarding ceremonies.
- Overnight: Tourist camp by the Tolbo Lake.
Day 3: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park (ATB)
- Today, we will drive to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, nestled in the majestic Altai Mountains. The drive to Altai Tavan Bogd will take approximately five hours, giving you your first glimpses of Mongolia’s vast and breathtaking landscape.
- Overnigh: Traditional ger in the Oigor Valley, surrounded by the wild beauty of the Altai Mountains.
Day 4: ATB National Park – Potanin Glacier
- On our second day, we will drive to President’s Hill, which offers an incredible vantage point over the valley, before embarking on a trekking or horseback ride (if available) to Potanin Glacier—Mongolia’s longest glacier. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Altai Mountains, with their towering peaks providing an unforgettable backdrop.
In the evening, we will return to Olgii. - Overnight: Hotel in Olgii
Day 5: Terelj National Park
- Today, we fly back to Ulan Bataar. After landing we’ll head out directly to Terelj National Park to visit the Chinggis Khan Monument, Turtle Rock viewpoint and sunset at a Tibetan Buddhist Temple overlooking the stunning mountain scenery.  That evening we drive straight  to the capital to rest after a long day and get ready for the Nadaam Festival tomorrow.

Day 6: Khustai National Park – Ulaanbaatar city
- Early breakfast, and we will head to Khustai National Park, the land of the wild’s horses, where we will have a short hike around the national park and try to observe the unique wild horses of Mongolia. We will also visit a family of herder Ganchuluun for an immersive experience of authentic nomadic life. Deepen your understanding of how nomadic traditions have persisted and adapted in the modern era. Engage in hands-on herding activities and enjoy savoring Khorkhog or Mongolian Barbeque. You will return to Ulaanbaatar in the evening.

Day 7: Fly Out
- It’s the saddest moment on any Expedition: we say goodbye until the next time we see each other! Or you Can continue to our TIBET Expedition!
Accomodation
Sharing room in traditional Ger in the National Parks and Hotel in the cities. During the trip, you will stay in traditional ger the first days. It will be provided all camping equipment such as sleeping bag and mattresses. But if you have your own sleeping bag you canbring it as well.Transport
