With a carefully planned itinerary, this expedition promises an unforgettable journey for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path adventure filled with cultural immersion and awe-inspiring natural wonders!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival - Altai Tavan Bogd National Park (ATB)

  • Welcome to Mongolia! The Expedition begins on July 5th as we take an early flight from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, to Olgii, located in the stunning western region. Upon arrival, we will drive to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, nestled in the majestic Altai Mountains. It is recommended to arrive in Ulaanbaatar on July 4th to be well-rested for the next days ahead. The drive to Altai Tavan Bogd will take approximately five hours, giving you your first glimpses of Mongolia's vast and breathtaking landscape.
  • Overnigh: Traditional ger in the Oigor Valley, surrounded by the wild beauty of the Altai Mountains.

Day 2: ATB National Park - Potanin Glacier

  • On our second day, we will drive to President's Hill, which offers an incredible vantage point over the valley, before embarking on a horseback ride to Potanin Glacier—Mongolia's longest glacier. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Altai Mountains, with their towering peaks providing an unforgettable backdrop.
  • In the evening, we will return to our camp to rest.

Day 3: Khoton & Khurgan Lake

  • After an early breakfast, we head south within Altai Tavan Bogd National Park to explore more of this incredible region. Our Expedition will take us to the beautiful Khoton and Khurgan Lakes. Along the way, we will visit ancient archaeological sites such as ancient cemeteries and stone man manuments. And a hike to the beautiful Baga Turgen Waterfall
  • Stay overnight at traditional ger.

Day 4: Eagle Hunter Family

  • Stay overnight at traditional ger.

Day 5: Terelj National Park

  • Today, we fly back to Ulan Bataar. After landing we'll head out directly to Terelj National Park to visit the Chinggis Khan Monument, Turtle Rock viewpoint and sunset at a Tibetan Buddhist Temple overlooking the stunning mountain scenery.  That evening we drive straight  to the capital to rest after a long day and get ready for the Nadaam Festival tomorrow.

Absolutely unforgettable. Traveling through Central America was so much more than a trip. It was an experience built around connection and shared adventure. From volcano hikes to pyramid sunrises, every destination was stunning, but what truly made it special was the group I shared it with. I’ve come home with a head full of memories, several crazy stories, and a few friends for life.

The best introduction to this part of the world. West Africa is sometimes called "Africa for beginners". I can see it. Mostly laid back, beautiful coast, incredible sightseeing and smiley locals. Add in the mix the Vodun culture, the colourful dances and thrilling rituals and you have an adventure to remember. Benin has quickly rose to being one of my favourite countries and the expedition family some of my favourite people.

History, history, history! Wow, is all I can say. Libya's recent history has created an isolation from tourism, and made this a relatively untouched Mediterranean gem. The Roman and Phoenician ruins are just mind-blowing. The trip out to the Algerian-Libyan border of The Sahara Desert is long, but well worth it to see Ghadames. Definitely say, "Yes"!

What a hilarious group of explorers who made the long drives fun! The guys were great dancers, too, when faced with rejection by the local females at the bar/dance hall, they had no problem dancing with themselves! Music, song and "car dancing" kept the mood going the whole time. Views were outstanding in The Pamir region.

I really cherish the people I met on my 1st "YES", I said to Afghanistan. It was a small group of very empathetic and adventurous people. We were all nervous at first, until we settled into the pace of our Expedition led by Elena. The people, the lead, the guide and drivers, and the shop keepers were so welcoming and professional. Kindest and most generous people I've met in recent years. I highly recommend everyone visit Afghanistan.
